The fourth of our five-part Words to Live By (Divrei Chaim) Speaker Series will be on Monday, March 4 from 8:15-9:45 a.m. in the Lower Division Disscovery Lab.
The Divrei Chaim, Hebrew for “words to live by,” serve as the foundation for our entire school community, including students, parents, and faculty. Our school's Divrei Chaim include kindness, integrity, curiosity, community, and purpose and form the basis for both character development as well as academic growth.
Each segment of the Words to Live By Speaker Series focuses on one of the Divrei Chaim, highlighting its value in today’s world as well as its connection to Denver JDS.
Each segment of the Words to Live By Speaker Series focuses on one of these Divrei Chaim, highlighting its value in today’s world as well as its connection to Denver JDS. This fourth program will focus on “integrity” and answers the question, “How do you have integrity while working for the betterment of community?”
The first part of the program will be a panel featuring:
Denver JDS Head of School/CEO Avi Halzel
JEWISHcolorado President and CEO Jay Strear
Temple Emanuel Associate Rabbi Emily Hyatt
Chief of Staff at Office of the Attorney General for Colorado (and Denver JDS parent) Leora Joseph
The panel will be moderated by Upper Division Principal Jason Snyder. Questions will explore the meaning, role, and importance of integrity in the lives of these leaders in our community.
The second part of the program will feature an interview of Denver JDS students Holden Demain, Molly Malek, and Jonas Rosenthal by Lower Division Principal Elana Shapiro and will look at the role of integrity at Denver JDS.
The final speaker series date and topic is "kindness" on May 16.
