As of July 1, 2021, Denver Jewish Day School's new board chair is Rich Cohn. The Immediate Past Board Chair now becomes Irit Waldbaum, who served as the Board Chair from 2018-2021. You can find out out more about Rich and his involvement with Denver JDS by reading below:
 

Rich Cohn has served as a board member of Denver Jewish Day School since 2014.  Prior to becoming Chair of the Denver JDS board, served on the School’s development committee and chaired the School’s finance committee. Rich and his wife Lisa have one child, Avi, who has attended Denver JDS since kindergarten and will be in 11th grade this Fall.  Rich also serves as a board member of Temple Emanuel.  He is a past board member of the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Philanthropy Center, and the Israel and Overseas Center of the Allied Jewish Federation (now JEWISHColorado), and the Jewish Community Foundation (also now JEWISHColorado).  


Rich has been Associate General Counsel for the Furniture Row group of companies since 2001.  Prior to joining Furniture Row, Rich was engaged in the private practice of law with an emphasis on commercial litigation and trial work.  
Rich studied international relations at The George Washington University.  He also spent a year at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel studying U.S. and Israeli foreign policy.  He earned his law degree and a Masters degree in international management from the University of Denver.  


Rich is a Denver native.  He and Lisa met in high school at a BBYO event.  Rich and Lisa enjoy celebrating life with family and friends, golf, sports, theater, movies, and traveling.  Above all, their greatest pleasure is spending time with Avi.
