Denver Jewish Day School has named Spencer Barclay the new high school girls basketball head coach. Coach Spencer works at Denver JDS full-time as a gym teacher for elementary school and middle school students. With a deep background of coaching experience at different levels and sports at DJDS, Spencer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position.  Coach Spencer previously coached the boys and girls basketball teams at the Chicago Jewish Day School, as well as the boys and girls basketball teams for Chai Athletics in Chicago.

Coach Spencer served as the assistant coach for the high school girls team last season and is familiar with the team and its players, which will help create a smooth transition and build on the team's success.

“I am excited to build on the achievements of last season, and introduce new ways both mentally and physically to continue our growth and success as a program,” said Coach Spencer. “My main goal as a coach is to help each individual become the best versions of themselves and help instill confidence to grow and build character.”

Coach Spencer will succeed longtime coach and faculty member of DJDS, Jason Snyder, who will assume the assistant coaching role and continue to be an impactful member of the community and school.
