How will the school of tomorrow look?

Artificial intelligence is used by doctors and scientists, marketing professionals, programmers, and artists among others...Educators must now ask themselves: How will the school of tomorrow look?

If computers are now capable of reading books and articles, summarizing them, and even writing academic papers on your behalf, if AI can calculate equations and provide a step-by-step explanation of how it was solved, and if bots are building elaborate presentations that include questions, explanations, and pictures without human intervention - what will the future of education look like?

Here are two of the most critical questions to ask related to education.
1. In what ways can artificial intelligence support and assist teachers? (e.g., reading tests, creating lesson plans, analyzing data)
2. How does artificial intelligence affect the way teachers teach and students learn?

Or, more generally, how can artificial intelligence work for us and not replace us?

These are the questions we will be asking ourselves and our faculty and staff during the summer and during professional development sessions.

Meanwhile, students need to be prepared and knowledgeable about AI, its management and control, robots, and coding.
Our fourth grade AI Tanach project was a great start, and we are happy to announce that we have invested in new KinderLab robots and professional curricula for teaching K-5 students the basics of programming.

By using cubes, barcodes, Legos, and robots, the students learn what code is, how it works, how to build it, and what happens when they put it into action. This is possible thanks to the generous support of the IDEAS (Institute for Day School Excellence and Sustainability) and the Sulman Fund.

Starting next school year, high school and middle school students will be able to take robotics and programming courses in the Upper Division as well. We invite you to follow and participate as we embark on this exciting, new, journey. And May the Forth be with you!
