School Counselor K-12

Title: School Counselor K-12

Start Date: August 1, 2026

Overview:

The school counselor at DJDS is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the current and future Social Emotional Learning (SEL)counseling curriculum and programing for grades K-12. (or K-5 and 6-12).
The school counselor provides brief individual and group counseling, classroom presentations and consultation with families and staff to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of students and the larger school community.
The school counselor assists with the coordination of health curriculum and preventive programming for all grades.
The school counselor assists with resources and referrals and collaborates to interpret data and test results for students.
The school counselor consults with teachers, conducts classroom observations and collaborates with our Student Services Team (SST)assists in creating behavioral strategies and plans for students when needed.
The school counselor is responsible for evaluating, implementing and communicating the knowing school crisis protocol, completing risk assessment screenings, creating safety plans and communicating and collaborating with necessary stakeholders to maximize safety of students and community.
This position is responsible for maintaining and evaluating DJDS’s ongoing relationship with Centus Counseling - a partner organization providing school based therapy and counseling services. This position is the on-site supervisor for Centus counselors and responsible for communicating and collaborating with the clinician’s supervisors at Centus. and also supervises a counseling intern every year.
The school counselor is held to high ethical and legal standards dictated by Colorado law and the appropriate governing licensing board. The counselor is responsible for knowing the law and standards and for appropriately communicating, upholding and training staff in these laws (e.g. mandated reporter training) where appropriate.
The profession maintains appropriate documentation andThis position also attends the ACIS counselor’s forum as often as possible to stay connected to the wider private school community.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Master’s degree in mental health (e.g. LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, etc.) counseling or related field.

Salary Range: $70,00-$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Upper Division Vice Principal

Title of the Job :Upper Division Vice Principal

Term : 26-27 School year

Start Date: July 1, 2026

Salary & Benefits: $65,000 - $80,000annually, commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:The Vice Principal plays a central leadership role in supporting the school's academic, social-emotional, and Jewish life. Working closely as an advisor to the Principal and senior leadership team, the Vice Principal helps cultivate a safe, inclusive, and values-driven learning environment where students, faculty, and families feel supported and challenged.

The purpose of the role is to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of the Upper Division administration with the ultimate goal of improving and expanding our educational program. While the projects within the VP’s portfolio may shift over the course of the year, the following list of priorities will serve as an initial guide.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support student academic progress, social-emotional well-being, and behavioral growth.
Partner with the Principal on student support plans, discipline, and restorative practices.
Be a visible presence in classrooms, hallways, lunch, and school events.
Support implementation of curriculum, assessment practices, and instructional initiatives.
Promote a positive, respectful school culture grounded in Jewish values such as derech eretz (respect), kehillah (community), and tikkun olam (responsibility).

Assist with classroom observations and professional growth conversations.
Collaborate on faculty professional development aligned with school goals.
Serve as a trusted point of contact for day-to-day instructional and classroom needs.

Collaborate with department chairs, learning specialists, and counselors to support diverse learners.
Help oversee schedules, coverage, and academic logistics as needed.

Partner with families in supporting student growth and success.
Communicate clearly, thoughtfully, and proactively with parents and caregivers.
Represent the school professionally at events and community gatherings.

Assist with daily school operations, including schedules, supervision, and coverage.
Support emergency procedures and school safety protocols.
Step in for the Principal as needed.
Contribute to strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.

Requirements: An ideal candidate has the following qualifications or experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or Educational Leadership preferred.
Prior teaching experience required; leadership experience strongly preferred.
Experience in independent, private, or Jewish day school settings preferred.
Strong understanding of adolescent development and student support practices.
Familiarity with Jewish values, culture, and school life; Hebrew knowledge a plus.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Denver Jewish Day School seeks a passionate, caring, and skillful science teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position entails teaching five sections of Science, with specific course assignments to be determined based on the new hire’s interest and expertise. In addition to fulfilling their core teaching responsibilities, full-time faculty at Denver JDS are expected to engage with students in other settings, including advisory, athletics, class trips, Wednesday electives, clubs, and extracurricular activities. Class sizes are small (about 15 students on average), and teachers are typically able to offer students substantial personal attention. Faculty work closely with our Student Support Center staff to help meet the needs of students with learning differences.

Qualifications:

We are looking for an experienced educator who is excited about working in a small school environment where it is possible to get to know students well and provide highly individualized guidance and support. The ideal candidate will have a record of excellence in prior teaching roles, an interest in teaching both Middle and High School, the ability to teach across the Science curriculum, exceptional communication skills, and an interest in developing creative curricula in collaboration with colleagues. Candidates who can teach a variety of math classes in addition to science may receive preference.

Compensation: $50,000-$68,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Class sizes are small (about 15 students on average), and teachers are typically able to offer students substantial personal attention. Faculty work closely with our Student Support Center staff to help meet the needs of students with learning differences.

Qualifications:

We are looking for an experienced educator who is excited about working in a small school environment where it is possible to get to know students well and provide highly individualized guidance and support. The ideal candidate will have a record of excellence in prior teaching roles, an interest in teaching both Middle and High School, the ability to teach across the curriculum from pre-Algebra through calculus, exceptional communication skills, and an interest in developing creative curricula in collaboration with colleagues. The position entails teaching three or four sections of Middle School Social Studies, with specific course assignments to be determined based in part on the new hire’s interest and expertise (e.g., world history, U.S. history, geography, civics). Preference may be given to candidates who can also teach Middle School English and/or high school history electives.

In addition to fulfilling their core teaching responsibilities, full-time faculty at Denver JDS are expected to engage with students in other settings, including advisory, athletics, class trips, Wednesday electives, clubs, and extracurricular activities. Class sizes are small (about 15 students on average), and teachers are typically able to offer students substantial personal attention. Faculty work closely with our Student Support staff to help meet the needs of students with learning differences.

Qualifications:

Upper Division English Teacher

Title: Upper Division English Teacher

Role and Responsibilities of the Teacher:
Denver Jewish Day School seeks a passionate, caring, and skillful English teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The position entails teaching 2-4 sections of Middle School English (one or two preps), using a structured model of direct instruction in vocabulary, grammar, and composition. A full teaching load is five sections (up to three preps), and the successful candidate will likely also teach at least one section of high school English.
