Meet the Admission Team

Shayna has been working in Jewish education for more than 20 years and administration for more than 15. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tulane University and a Master of Arts in Jewish Education (MAJE) from the Rhea Hirsch School of Jewish Education at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, CA. Shayna has three children, one current junior attending Denver JDS and two DJDS alum.

Matan is a proud Denver JDS alum (Class of 2012) and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Communications. Matan has been working at DJDS in the Marketing and Admission offices since 2016.

Matan works primarily with newly enrolled and prospective families who have kids interested in grades 6-12. 

When he's not behind his desk, you will probably find him coaching basketball at DJDS. He has been the JV Boys Head Coach and Varsity Boys Assistant Coach for the past 5 years, and he is very passionate about coaching and basketball at DJDS. 

John is a native of Dallas, Texas, having found his way to Colorado in the summer of 2019. He received his Bachelor of Music Performance from Oklahoma State University in 2017, and his Master’s from San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2019.

He has several years under his belt as a barista, and more recent experience in the Service and Administration fields. On his days off, he enjoys playing and producing music, watching hockey, making coffee, and hiking. He and his wife, Karen have one son/cat named Blue Moon.
