Welcome to Kindergarten at Denver Jewish Day School

Little learners find big things to be excited about here.

Being an inquisitive, engaged, joyful student starts right here in kindergarten with innovative and rigorous academics guided by tradition and Jewish values.

Our teacher-to-student ratio for kindergarten is wonderfully small, giving each unique learner the space to be creative, relish the joy of discovery, ask questions, try new things, and gain confidence and a sense of curiosity that will stay with them throughout their education and beyond.

Here are a few important things to know about kindergarten at Denver JDS

Our unique sense of community makes Denver JDS more than just a school, and kindergarten is the best first step into experiencing all the warmth, care and welcoming of an entire school dedicated to raising each other up.

Children must be five years old by October 1, 2025 to be eligible to apply to kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year.
Applicants are required to have one Jewish parent to be eligible for admission. Denver Jewish Day School does not admit students who are a part of a messianic religious community.
Denver Jewish Day School is a PreK-12 school. If your child has siblings in other grades, we welcome them to apply as well!

So much we learn about life, friendships, and the joy of discovery starts in kindergarten. We believe in tapping into everything those young brain cells are experiencing.

A typical day includes:

8:10am	Calendar/Tefilah in homeroom
8:35am	Literacy KB, Judaics KA
9:35am	Recess and Snack
10:20am	Literacy KA, Judaics KB
11:20am	Math KB, Hebrew KA
12:00pm	Lunch/Rest/Recess
12:50pm	Math KA, Hebrew KB
1:35pm	Writing/Science/Social Studies in homeroom
2:10pm	Recess
2:30pm	Specials (Art, Music, Gym, Farmette)
3:30pm	Closing Circle in homeroom
3:35pm	See you tomorrow!

Step 4: Decision Notification

Denver JDS will notify applicants of admission decisions via email on a rolling basis between March 2025 and the first day of school for the 2025-26 school year. Families that complete an application for tuition assistance will be notified of their award within two weeks of admission decision notification.
