Affording Denver JDS
Denver JDS wants to make our exceptional education available to as many families as possible. To that end, we offer several tuition assistance options: traditional financial aid, reduced tuition for families with at least one parent who works full time in the Jewish community, and we now have an Income Based Affordability Program (see below) that provides straightforward, predictable, and meaningful financial support for families across the economic spectrum. We encourage you to review all these options and contact us with any questions about your family’s specific needs.

Income Based Affordability program
About the Income Based Affordability Program
This new program makes tuition assistance simple and accessible to those with an annual Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $100k-$350k. The calculator below is a quick, easy, and secure tool built to estimate a family’s eligibility for tuition assistance, and to immediately show how much a family can expect to pay in tuition per student.
How Does it Work?
-
A prospective family answers four short questions and the calculator immediately provides the tuition/student for that family.*
-
After visiting the calculator, please contact director of admission, Shayna Friedman, at sfriedman@denverjds.org if you wish to pursue this program in the 2025-2026 school year.
-
This simple tool makes it quick and easy for families to see if they qualify for tuition assistance. No need for a complicated financial aid application.
-
Traditional financial aid remains available and may be preferable for families with a unique financial situation, or for those for whom the AGI program does not provide enough assistance.
-
The number of qualifying students depends on the number of students at Denver Jewish Day School, in preschool(s), therapeutic or special education school(s), and undergraduate college(s). We invite you to utilize our tuition calculator below to estimate your family’s tuition obligation.
-
Contact director of admission, Shayna Friedman, at sfriedman@denverjds.org to discuss how to apply the reduced tuition to your payment account in FACTS Management.
*Applicants must have filed a U.S. tax return and will be required to provide pages 1-2 of Form 1040. Additionally, the program is not available to those whose taxes include a schedule C or E.
For example, a family with an AGI of $160,000 and two children - one incoming to DJDS and one in preschool - would have two qualifying students and therefore would pay 19% (9.5% per qualifying student) or $15,200 in tuition to Denver JDS for their incoming student.
This income scale applies during the student's entire career at Denver JDS, with tuition re-set annually based only on family income and number of qualifying students, without regard to Denver JDS’s maximum tuition levels. Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) is determined via tax returns for the year immediately preceding the school year.
Who Qualifies?
-
Families with an annual AGI of $100k - $350k are invited to apply. This Income Based Affordability Program program is based on a specific percent of family income, dependent on the number of students at Denver Jewish Day School, in preschool(s), therapeutic or special education school(s), and undergraduate college(s).

financial Aid
Affording Denver Jewish Day School
Am I a candidate for financial aid?
There are a few questions you can ask yourself to help determine whether financial aid is right for you.
- Am I able to fit the entire amount of tuition into my budget without sacrificing core expenses like housing, vehicles, groceries, clothing, healthcare, and childcare?
- Is there discretionary spending currently in my household budget that I could allocate toward tuition?
- Is there a potential wage earner in our household who is choosing to stay at home?
- Are there family members who plan to help us with tuition?
