Upper Division (Middle School 6-8)

Dr. Jeremy Golubcow-Teglasi (Dr. G-T) began his tenure as the Upper Division Principal at DJDS in the summer of 2023. Dr. G-T has a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Michigan. He also has a JD from Yale Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Princeton. Since he joined the Upper Division faculty at Denver JDS in 2018, Jeremy has earned the respect of students, parents, faculty, and administration. He is a K-12 graduate of the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Maryland and taught there for a year.

During my time at DJDS, I have fallen in love with this school -- both for what it is and for what it can be. As a teacher, I have had the privilege of watching so many of our students develop the intellectual and ethical virtues that our Jewish tradition celebrates. And now I am grateful to have the privilege of working with my colleagues to make students' experience at the school as purposeful, wonderful, and meaningful as we possibly can.

— Dr. Jeremy Golubcow-Teglasi, Upper Division Principal

Welcome to the Upper Division!

Denver Jewish Day School students are curious, joyful, and enthusiastic learners — respected and celebrated for the unique contribution they bring to their class and to our school. Our teachers, administrators, and staff take the time to get to know each and every one of our students. Differentiated instruction and inquiry-based learning ensure that our students are met at their appropriate instructional level, and they are encouraged to explore questions and learning that ignite their curiosity. Our strong focus on our school’s Divrei Chaim (Words to Live By or core values) as well as our Tzedek (service learning) program instill respect, kindness, and a sense of efficacy in all our students.

Our school community includes students, parents, and educators who come together from different backgrounds and Judaic observance to share in the goal of creating and fostering an inclusive and pluralistic school community in which our children grow and thrive as learners and people.

I welcome you to explore this warm and wonderful learning community — our mishpachah (family) — in which all of our students are encouraged to reach their greatest potential.
