Hebrew Israel/Immersion Program (HIP)
Five intensive weeks in Israel. One experience of a lifetime.
Denver JDS sophomores spend five weeks studying and learning at the High School for Environmental Education, a prestigious Israeli boarding school in Ramat Negev. Students are immersed in both the language and culture of the country, spending more than 120 hours in ulpan, an intensive Hebrew language training program. HIP enables Denver JDS students to:
- create lifelong, personal relationships with the land of Israel and their Israeli peers
- improve Hebrew language proficiency
- deepen self awareness through immersion in another Jewish culture
In order to participate in HIP, the following forms must be completed and returned:
School-Wide Experiential Learning
While HIP is our longest and most intensive example of experiential learning, students in all grades (K-12) learn outside of the classroom.
