The Illustrated Torah

Commemorate life experiences. Make a Difference in Jewish Education.

Created by Israeli artist Michal Meron in her studio in Venice, Italy, the DJDS Illustrated Torah is a colorful, whimsical, beautifully illustrated Torah used to bring the Torah’s stories, teachings and lessons to life.

The Talmud tells us that our children are the guarantors of the Torah, and that it is our responsibility to teach them its stories, lessons and values. DJDS’s Illustrated Torah is housed in a lucite case on the Pluss/Rosenbaum Wall, Lower Division building, second floor, just outside the Merage Family Chapel. Our 4th and 5th grade students sit in front of the Torah display case during shacharit morning prayers and Judaics class, making the week’s parsha come to life.

Celebrate and commemorate the special moments in your life such as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, special anniversary, birth of a grandchild, or a loved one’s yarzheit. Take advantage of a rare opportunity as we share this living Torah with our community. Sponsor a parsha and help support an innovative Hebrew and Judaic curriculum for our 23 Hebrew and Judaic Studies teachers for students in grades K-12.
