We are the Denver JDS Tigers
Sports are a fun and exciting part of life at Denver JDS. We are the Tigers, and our mascot, painted on the floor and wall of the Strear Family Gymnasium, is Mogy.
Athletes at Denver JDS compete hard -- and more importantly -- play with spirit, or ruach. Playing for the Tigers gives students an opportunity to learn more about the game and reinforces the importance of teamwork.
As a Division 1A school, the Upper Division offers organized team sports in:
- girls volleyball
- girls basketball
- boys basketball
- girls soccer
- boys soccer
- boys baseball
School sports forms and fees are due before uniforms will be issued, and physician forms must be turned in before students can participate in inter-school play.

"No Cut" Policy
At Denver JDS, we have a "no cut" policy so that all interested students in middle and high school are eligible to play sports for the Tigers. Each Middle school sport has one or two teams, depending on the number of interested participants. At the high school level, teams are broken out by JV and Varsity. Our inclusive approach defies any concerns of mediocrity: in the past five years, every Denver JDS sports team has reached district and/or state play-offs at least once.
Since we are members of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), Denver JDS also ensures that students interested in other sports can try out to participate on the team of their local public high school.
